Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for an Associate Development Specialist to join our team in Plano, TX.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing and implementing communication plans for all L&D programs and events as part of the Analysis and Design team.
- Responsible for the integration and publication of L&D messages into strategic communication channels such as global calls, business unit reviews, L&D/HR/PSC websites and senior leader meetings, etc.
- Responsible to prepare L&D leaders to present to senior leaders, external audiences, at learning events and other venues as needed.
- Work in team, as part of the Analysis and Design Group within Corporate Learning & Development functional area, utilizing the Perot Systems version of the ADDIE model of instructional design, to provide the learning objects necessary to support strategic corporate-wide initiatives.
- Create communication plans for various learning objects as part of the Integrated Design Document (Includes Development/Implementation and Evaluation phases instructional design.
- Interface as required with subject matter experts, vendors and leaders from across the company and the senior leadership team.
- Work closely with Development, Implementation and Evaluation team members to ensure designs are carried forward efficiently and are effective in meeting the learning objectives.
- Oversee assigned programs such as learning systems, performance management and/or compliance.
Required Skills: - Strong analysis and strategic thinking capabilities. Must be able to identify underlying intent and patterns, formulate clear approaches to address opportunities and issues, differentiate between communication projects and learning objects, and effectively interact with a wide variety of personality types and customer representatives.
- Advanced ability to communicate thoughts and concepts in both in verbal and written forms.
- Experience creating models and diagrams to explain concepts. (Expressed via rough sketches and basic graphics is sufficient.)
- Proficient in MS Office Products. (Strong skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint. Moderate skills in MS Visio, MS Project, MS Access.)
- Excellent organizational skills, with a high attention to detail. Ability to work with timelines, deadlines and apply appropriate resources.
- Excellent relationship skills and commitment to customer service.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced dynamic team.
- Ability to plan the overall communication flow for a program and see that content is both appropriate and clearly communicated to relevant audiences such that audiences are influenced to take next steps.
Desired Skills: - 1-3 years experience in designing and implementing corporate or education communication.
- Experience working in a global corporate environment.
- Knowledge of computer-based learning methods. Entry level understanding and experience of graphics and animation tools (PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash, ?), authoring tools (Captivate, Macromedia, Flash, Dreamweaver, ?) and semi-synchronous delivery tools. (WebEx, Live Meeting, ?).
- Teaching or training background with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to a non-technical community and business concepts to a technical community.
Minimum Educational Requirements: - Bachelors degree in Communication or Education or Computer Science related area (i.e. Instructional Design, Adult Education, Applied Technology and Performance Improvement, etc.)
